My niece is still on formula and i can't understand why my sister has not yet started her on solid foods. I know all babies are different but, i thought normally babies should start solids at around 5-or 6 mths. My son did. What do you think ? My sis is a good mom, just wondering about my niece's development.

Some don't start until a year or later... as long as she is growing and happy, she should be fine.

There is no need for solids before 12 months, and if there is a family history of allergies or if the child has exhibited other immune problems such as eczema it is best to wait this long.

Most babies are physically ready between 6-9 months BUT don't nutritionally need solids until past 1 year. And some kids with allergies will refuse all solids until 1 year.

She should have started baby food at 4-5 months. My son is 11 months and even eats kids meals when we go out. I would think she should be eating sweet/mashed potatoes and green beans, things like that.

some people dont give their baby solids until after they turn one. i have been told by a nutritionist that they should start solids at 6 months and be off of formula by 13 months. if you dont start giving them solids until they are 12 months and you start them on whole milk, that can give them really bad belly aches. has she ever told you why she hasnt given her baby solids yet?

by making use of the time my daughter became 9 months previous, we've been feeding her 3 "actual" nutrients an afternoon. it rather is recommended to offer her greater desirable than merely a jar of toddler nutrients for breakfast. have you ever tried giving her any actual fruit? We all started with bananas. cut back them up into rather small products and enable her feed herself. My daughter enjoyed them! Then in line with possibility introduce some yogurt. It rather relies upon on the quantity of the teeth she has, once you think of approximately what you are able to feed her. yet i think of she could be eating a sprint greater desirable than what you're giving her. My pediatrician stated giving our daughter merely little bits of what my husband and that i've got been eating. Its sturdy prepare for them! additionally - it rather is recommended to start making use of sippy cups as a replace of quite some bottles. i think of the later you start up attempting to get them to provide up making use of their bottle, the harder it rather is. sturdy success!!!
