hey i understand how you are feeling i would have the same problem when i was about your age. when i first started my period i felt like i had to go to the bathroom , that could be a sign, or (this may sound a little gross) you may feel that your underwear are a little wet, the min. you feel that then you might want to go to the bathroom and check. oh and if that happens at school go to the school nurse or some one that you trust and they should be able tho help you. and i know that your young and this could be a little embarrassing but every girl will have to go through it sometime in her life so it really isn't all that embarrassing once you think about the situation that way

I had absolutely NO idea that I was going to have my period, even though I'd been having the signs that are supposed to be a few months for literally three years. It finally started on the first day of eigth grade when I was wearing light blue shorts... that pretty much sucked and yes it did end up leaking through before I noticed. Just always keep some pantyliners handy and if you're worried, just go to the bathroom a lot and check, but there are no real clear signs, but it will probably be before you are fourteen if not sooner if you're healthy and of average size.

All of these signs the other gals mentioned are pretty typical. I also find that I get tired really easily the week before my period, and my sleep cycle goes a little haywire. I can barely keep my eyes open in the afternoon and then I get insomnia at night where I can't get to sleep until two or three.
Also, I never noticed this before I got contacts, but my eyes get really dry and feel scratchy. Sometimes they look a bit glassy too.
I also notice differences in my pain tolerance. When I'm prementrual, I am more likely to need ibuprofin for minor aches like TMJ pain. I actually rescheduled oral surgery once so that it would come the week before PMS week. It worked pretty well until Day 5, which was pretty darn sore.
Weird , creative, and/or intense food cravings aren't unusual for me either. I concocted my family's favorite mint cake recipe during a PMS munchies madness.

Cramps are a major sign I think, and acne, but you might have acne a while before you get your period. When you get the start of pubic hair, and your breasts develop are some signs. Just in case it happens during school or wherever, put a pad in your locker or purse. I really hope I could help....um, I think you should enjoy not having it, becouse when you do have it, your going to have it till your 50 or so, and it can sometimes be a hassle. No offense though. Hope I could help!

Yeah cramps and acne are symptoms for some people but there is no real sign to tell when your period is going to come. There is a myth but i believe it to be true because of past experience with me and alot of my friends. They say that you get your period around the same age your mother got her's. I would ask her around how old she was.
Also if your worried about getting it just carry a pad or tampon around with you in your purse and then if you happen to get it you can just use it.. Usually with your first period you will show signs of a little bit of blood (spotting) and it shouldnt start up real bad..
Hope this helps.

Your body is definitely changing ALOT at this age. Unfortunately, there is no definitive way to say when your period will come at an exact time. However, you can always be prepared by carrying a pad with you, just in case if you are away from home.

Sorry, it'll come when it comes.
For being prepared- make a little kit up, with a pad or tampon and some baby wipes.
You can stick it in a little bag and keep it in your purse or pack so it is there when you need it.
