If you want to access files, you probably want to add a link to them.

If you want to transfer files to the server, use ftp, scp or sftp.

The website is on the web server. Or are you referring to your development server? If that's the case, you should have an ftp account on the web server. It allows you to copy files there.

If your files are on the server they should be on the "website" already I think
