(March 14, 2007) -- The scourge of suicides among American troops in Iraq is a serious, and seriously underreported, problem, as this column has observed numerous times in the past three years. One of the few high-profile cases involved a much-admired Army colonel named Ted Westhusing.

Now, a new article reveals -- based on documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act -- that Westhusing's apparent suicide note included claims that his two commanders tolerated a mission based on "corruption, human right abuses and liars." One of those commanders: the new leader of the "surge" campaign in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus.

So, let me get this straight...you think a man on the verge of suicide is capable of making truly rational evaluations and decisions? And his indictment of his commanding general is enough to call for that general's replacement?
Sorry, but you'll have to try again. Supposition, internet rumor, and biased left-wing misreporting are not enough to document a coverup.
The suicide rate of US soldiers in Iraq is consistently below that of the American public in general.

This is possible! Highly unlikely. If you really want to know of a cover up. Did you know that Russia has been laundering money through Ca into the Democratic party? That is why when you listen to a lot of these liberals speak, they issues are more socialist based.

Anything is possible. The sun could fall out of the sky and vaporize the world tomorrow. Will it happen? Not likely. Grasping for straws might strain your arm hon.

This is nothing but anti-American propaganda and is not credible at all. With the Liberal bias in the media this would not be under reported if there were any truth in it. One suicide is not an epidemic. Muslim terrorists are an epidemic.

i wouldn't even call this the liberal media....this isn't media. this is some minor league hack blog. They make their money off of gullible readers like yourself. Trust me, if mass suicides were occuring, the liberal media would have reported on it years ago. They are on top of everything and in many cases make stuff up completely.
