How much of it is actually fake and how much of it is real? Do the people the win a match actually win fairly or is that scripted too?

Damn people, the girl just wanted to ask a question, there should be no hateration in this dancery. The wrestlers know who is going to win before hand. The moves are "pulled" so that they look as real as possible and hurt as little as possible. But trust me, being slammed onto a mat 250 times a year, getting hit in the head with a chair every 2 weeks takes a toll on you, heck, if you don't know what your doing, you can break a rib just running into the ropes. Mick Foley is the best example I can give you. As for the blood, its real, but 95% of the time the wrestlers makes himself bleed, the 5% it was done on accident. You'd also be surprised to know that wrestlers do not wear cups, low blows are usually okay, but landing on the turn buckle or the ropes does not equal a pleaseant landing.

Pretty much everthing is scripted.... Read one or more of the books wrote by one of the wrestlers to get more insight on wrestling behind the scenes.

Winners are determined by the "storyline". The matches are scripted by wrestlers behind, but do add-lib parts of the matches.

The pain from it is real, but most of it is "fake". I real punch from someone that strong would break a person's jaw or knock them out like in boxing.

Most wrestling do know about this. You could say its like watching an action movie or matrial arts movie ( I know its still action) with just a different type of action.

Don't worry I used to have to defend watching wrestling for years. People that don't watch wrestling think wrestling fans actually think it real in since of being a real sports competition....like The Rock would always say...its sports entertainment.

Professional wrestling is not fake, but it is fixed. The winners are determined in advance, and the matches are choreographed. The dialog is usually not scripted, but who says (or more often screams) what to whom is worked out ahead of time.

This having been said, the acrobatic moves used are genuine, the blood is real, and Vince McMahon really did have a two hundred something pound man leap off a ladder onto his chest last year at Wrestlemania. That's why it's called "sports entertainment"-- it's live combat theater.

The winner decides by the script and not too much of wrestling is fake like the punches are the only thing fake but the rest are real

it's a bit of a mix of fake and real. as others have noted, the winners are predetermined. the match itself is semi-choreographed, meaning that when one wrestler is going to do some complicated move on another wrestler, they both know beforehand so that it works out (if one wrestler randomly decided to lift the other up by his neck without him knowing, the result would be a real injury). in terms of "real" aspects of wrestling, some moves require certain amounts of pain, and there is a relatively high level of risk involved no matter how choreographed the match is, so true injuries can and do happen.

Wrestling is not "fake". The outcomes of the matches are pre determined. The actual action in the ring is very real and many wrestlers have gotten seriously injured during matches.

Wrestling is fake because the match results are scripted and those people behind this sport knows who is gonna be the winner or the new champion but the injuries and the blood is real and no one knows who'll gonna it...

probably like 70% is real, 30% is probably fake, like its scripted, and the punches are fake, but the slams are real and the blood is real, and when they get hit with weapons, its real. they are usually told when they are going to be attacked with a weapon so they cut themselves slightly, and tape it up a little, so right before they get hit they pull it off, and they bleed, pretty smart stuff
