I asked about my vacation time and they told me that since I left on bad terms (quit) without notice, that I don't get my vacation time.

You give up vacation pay when you quit with or without notice. If they would of fired you or layed you off then their obligated to pay you any vaction time you had coming to you.

Right to Work and Voluntary employment should not affect being paid for and receiving benefits contracted.
Check the state labor site and the US labor site.
Even if it is Florida, they still have to follow federal law.

Vacation time and comp time is time earned and should be paid regardless of the terms the employee left on. However, sick time and personal time is not time earned and should not be paid.

YES, Florida is a 'Right to Work' state which the employer can do that which is best for himself

When you quit without notice your generally not entitled to any further benefits of any kind.

Usually I think it depends on the company and how long you have worked there.
