Syracuse went 23-10 overall and 10-6 in the Big East, finishing ahead of Villanova who made the tournament as a 9 seed. They had a big win at Marquette and vs. Georgetown. They finished ahead of Georgia Tech, Texas Tech, Virginia, and Stanford in RPI but yet failed to make it.
