No it's not. I use the Mozilla Firefox browser instead of IE. The main reason I do this is because there is a lot of browser hijacking software on the 'net.
A browser hijacker is adware that takes control of your browser, and continuously redirects your browser to advertising sites. Most of this type of software is written for IE, so Mozilla is quite immune to it.
It sounds like that is what you've caught. I have never seen Mozilla using this type of marketing tactic, so I can only assume that it is the work of some unscrupulous affiliate.

Its not adware. Quit screaming. Mozilla "readds" internet explorer for some of your preferences, which makes the transition easier. Mozilla is a web browser simmilar to internet explorer. In my opinion its much better, faster, more features but its ur call.

No it's not. Mozilla is only second in popularity to IE6/7. In fact, IE7 is built based on the popular Mozilla Firefox browser. So no, it's not an adware.

Mozilla Firefox is the best browser ever, but maybe you got some virus instead if you didn't get it from the mozilla website. If everyone got firefox, we wouldn't have to deal with all the terrible spelling on this site.

Whether you go with IE or Firefox, makes no difference...they both are full of security holes. You hear more about IE simply because more people use it.
Both IE and Firefox are finally using features that have been in use in the Opera browser for years. http://www.opera.com

IE is shi*t. Mozilla is so much better and it has less problems. IE has all the spyware and adware. IE is what gives you problems.
