Mac blowing out usb?

Is it possible for a mac pro running windows xp to actually blow out usb hardware like joysticks? Is there a solution?

No ... that would really surprise me.
Even an operating system is just software, & it cannot short circuit or electrically overload a hardware component due to flaws or incompatability.

If that were the case think of what a virus with such code could do ... it could just start frying physical components on your PC ... forget about screwing up the OS ...
