WWE thought it would go over better with fans then it did. And when it didn't go over with fans, they simply swept it underneath the carpet as if it didn't happen.

The imposter Kane was called Drew Hankinson and well the storyline was to piss Kane off but because it was so boring WWE called it off.

It was a storyline that originally had a plan, but had very little fan interest (mostly disintrerest, really) so it was cut short early and with no real result.
