Does everyone feel the same way about this? I think he's just too nice. They need more dicipline.

The Bobby Knight thing was more of a joke than anything. It's been alomost 10 years since his only final 4 appearance and that was with Rick Pitino's team. Mediocracy doesn't fly in KY. And No, KY people aren't stupid...

Does making the playoff's make it for the Yankee's? NO... KY has a reputation and it has to be upheld. The recruiting isn't there and the discipline isn't there. Tubby needs to make it happen or leave. EKU earned their spot in the tourney. UK did not..I'm sorry. Not by UK standards anyway. The players need to be more respectful of their coach and play harderd if they want him to stay.

I don't want UK to lose by no means but I do want Tubby gone and better players recruited. Tubby hasn't done a whole lot for UK by Kentucky standards. Yeah he won a National Title in his first season with Rick's boys but UK has slowly been spiraling downhill since that first season. UK needs a new coach and better players.

Check out this section of this Tubby Smith Bio I found on the internet:
"Since arriving in Lexington in 1997, Smith has led Kentucky to one national championship, five SEC crowns and five SEC Tournament titles, with six Sweet 16 finishes in his eight seasons.

Over his 15 seasons as a head coach, the 54-year-old has had 13 consecutive 20-win seasons. In 2005, he joined Roy Williams, Nolan Richardson, Denny Crum and Jim Boeheim as the fifth head coach to win 365 games in 15 seasons or less. Smith's career record is now 365-133, and his .733 winning percentage is eighth among active coaches entering the 2006-07 season."

Why do some of you UK fans want to fire a coach that has that much success under his belt? Kentucky still made the tournament you know. Some teams would give a lot to be a number 8 seed.

But wouldn't firing Tubby Smith hurt UK's recruiting? Think about it. If you were a star high school basketball player, would you prefer to go to a school that had a well known coach that was a proven winner, or a school with a no-name coach who might or might not lead his team to a winning season?

I want them to win so Tubby Smith doesn't get fired. He did win a National Title there, he's a great coach, firing him would make no sense.

They aren't firing Tubby (or they're STUPID if they do). And they'd never, ever hire Bobby Knight. Get real. Are you Kentucky people truly this stupid?
