Many people eventually have no or almost no sex in their marriage after being married a long, long time. They stay married for the companionship, or because what there is of the relationship is far less demanding then a divorce would be, or out of fear of having to face life alone, or for financial reasons--and I'm sure there are a lot of other reasons people stay in a sexless marriage. Some people get married for non-romantic, no-sex reasons so it is more like a business (some highly successful). It all depends on what each of the participants wants--if one wants sex but the other doesn't, you need to talk to a counselor to see if there is a way to compromise (or if there is a reason). If you both don't feel the need for sex but are comfortable and satisfied in all other ways with the marriage, then that's all you need.

No sex is what happens when there are other serious problems in a marriage. What is the real cause for the relationship to have deteriorated?
Is there hope that it could be reversed?
Why is it suddenly an "issue"? I think it becomes an issue when one of the persons meets someone else they're curious about - possibly get involved and then say - oh darn, um, I didn't totally neglect my marriage focusing on other things... another person..." does that make sense?

First thing i would do would be to recommend marriage counseling and then sex therapy as well to make a better marriage and sex life together. Why is there no love on either side if I may ask?

Marriage sucks enough. Without sex, what's the point. That's like buying a car and storing it in the garage. Totally pointless.

If there is love but no sex, yes. But no love on either side, then end it.

Some people just don't understand that for whatever reason people can not have this. If you love that person, that would be the least of your worries.
