Sorry folks, but as much as we may all enjoy the 'tie-dus' pronunciation more (me included), it is most definitely 'tee-dus'. 'Tidus' comes from the Okinawan dialect (I speak Japanese... but Okinawan is very different from standard). It's 'Tiida' (ティーダ) in Okinawan, and both Yuna and Tidus' names come from the Okinawan dialect. They mean Sun (Tiida) and Moon (Yuna) (the wiki article says that Yuna means 'night'... I don't think so... but then again, I am not well-versed in Okinawan). Also, ティーダ (Tiida) is the way his name is written in katakana in the original Japanese version.

There is even a section on the pronunciation of his name in the wiki article, so I will list it ^^.

definitely it would be tie-dus, i have a friend who was really addicted to final fantasy and i'm sure it would be him who would get all the latest news around final fantasy... i remembered him once when he said to me that tidus was really pronounced tie-dus and not tee-dus... by the way, tidus and yuna were really very great characters and a great loveteam too!!!

In English it would be Tie-dus, but in other languages it's Tee-dus.
