I like "Take Me Home, Country Roads" ... even though he's name-checkin' West Virginia, which has nothing to do with me, that song always evokes wistful memories of days-gone-by and good times of the past.
I'll always "represent" for J.D., just because he gave us that one song.

Calypso.
Back in the early 70's (I think) one of our favorite family tv shows was 'The Undersea World of Jaques Cousteau'. On one episode, John was a guest aboard the 'Calypso' and wrote the song to commemorate the voyage.

colorado rocky mountain high. my dad would play john denver in the car ever since i was born, ever since we lived in denver. i didn't like him much as a kid, but now that i'm older i've come to appreciate his music. someday maybe i'll go back to the place i was born to find out just what john was singing about. love and peace.
