no firing in sparkplugs. where does the condensor hook up at and is it neg or pos, where does the wiring connect to on battery from condensor

To check for continuity:

1. Turn on the ignition switch

2. Check for power at the coil. The wire going to the distributor is for the points. If there is power on both sides of the coil that indicates that the points are open. The condenser is coupled to the same wire that is between the coil & points.

3. Remove the distributor cap, check the condition of the points. If the points appear to be burnt, replace. If there is power to the points, turn the engine until the points are closed. Remove the coil wire from the cap & hold it about a 1/4" from the block. Pry the points open with a small screwdriver. There should be a spark jump to the block. If not try another wire in the coil. If still no jump replace the coil.
