For school I need to write a paper on a career of my choice. I have always liked tearing things apart, finding out how things work, and designing things. So I picked computer science because I would like to learn more about it and possibly go to college for it. Could you guys give me some information on it such as the good and bad about it and jobs you can do with it. Thanks in advance!

Well if you are into logic, building things and learning how things are working then it is for you. I always took things apart growing up and loved making things. I was always good at repairing things too. These skills are directly proportional to programming. The problem is these days there are a lot of people that have degrees and no skills. Also CS is popular now. But contary to what everyone says there are plenty of jobs.

The most important thing that I can tell you is to get an internship and start working on projects now! Work on some open source things, get with a company etc. If you have degree and experience, you will have no problem with the field. If you dont get your foot in the door and graduate with no real world experience it will be very hard to get a job.

Computer science is not what you think it is. Computer science is actually programming. In the C++ language. It is very tedious and time comsuming. You'd better like it alot becauses the first year of computer science as a major, you will not leave your computer. You will be writing programs left and right. Also say good by to the sun as you will not be seeing for that year. Although it gest a little better the second year, it's not as tough.
