Marriage is definitely based on relationship.. without relationship - marriage wont last long as money can be easy spend and left none. Relationship is the special feeling inside for each other.. In order to give the other party a better life, one will work hard to earn money to make this family happy everafter..

nope. Its the other way around. Historically this is what marriage was. It was an union to unify lands and to make kingdoms stronger. A man could literally pay for a wife or the marriage was pre-arrange.
Now a days, you get to choose who you will marry. Divorce rate is going down. This is because people are starting to understand that they don't have to get married so, the ones that do do it are because they want to. Well, for the most part. So, today is base on relationship.

i'd say relationships, simply because i think that if the majority of people were marrying for money, the marriages would work out better, have less drama and divorce rates would be lower. Just an uneducated guess though.

It has and still is based on love and money is important to sustain their lives as a married couple. Money is important for any relationship or person for that matter. You just need money to live.

Well it's my hope they're based on relationships, but money is important, too. You have at least to be able to pay your bills, or the relationship will be very stressful.

I would say they are based on anything and everything so yes those two are options. They are based on anything from green cards, insurance, to gotta have a daddy on the birth certificate.
