They like to perch on my fence to take in the sun. One dissappeared for a while and i thought it may have been taken by a hawk, but it has since reappeared, and baby ones have appeared too. I am not sure how many there are as i have only found 2 at a time but i know there is at least 3 coz one has a bent tail. How many babies are there usually? Yes they are wild as i live in mid west australia and have had them in every backyard of every house i have lived in.

No they dont bite, in fact they are very tolerant of me and my husband, they sit on the fence and watch us do gardening. They also take food from our hands, if we find a yummy enough looking cricket. They are the regular wild, grey ones and are about 20 inches long. Cute as hell too.

They usually lay about 20 eggs. The gender of the babies depends on how hot or cold the temperature that the eggs stay in. Are you sure that it is a male and a female there? Males have a thick tail base and the females' tail is somewhat thin. Be very careful when you are gardening! If one is male and one is female and they breed, be careful not to dig up the eggs. They lay their eggs underground and they can be easily dug up on accident and you can kill the babies.

They can have up to 20 eggs per clutch, sometimes more.

There's a larger breed of bearded dragons that were culvivated in captivity in Germany, they're called German Giants and have been known to lay up to 70 eggs per clutch.

I'd say your wild friends had more babies, but were picked off by predators, possibly even their own parents. Beardies don't have any parental interests and will consume their own offspring if they are hungry and can catch the babies

That must be awesome to have them in your back yard, we have a pet bearded dragon and he is great (he is sitting on me right now sleeping) He is a great pet but must be nice to see them in their natural environment!! I read that in captivity they can lay 12-20 eggs!
Have fun with your little friends!
