i bought some fish a week ago, off the internet.
i ordered 7neons, but when they arrived two wer dead. i think it was stress, anyway i put the other 5 in my tank, they wer all ok untill the second day when i found one dead, and it looked as if his tail was missing. then two days ago i come down and was watching them and only seen 3neons, so i feed them an fort tht the forth may come out but it didnt. cant find him any wer so i fink he may have been eaten?!? is it possible that one ov my other fish could have eaten it? i have a mollie, a gorami, male siamese fighter, 4 platies, 2 kuhli loaches, 2 clown loaches, and a plec..... any suggestion? also will the 3 neons be ok or should i buy more?

Why did you order such common fish via mail? Do you live near a store? The stress of being shipped (several times in the past few weeks) probably killed them.

I would say don't buy anymore fish until the one's you have stop dying or disappearing. It's possible one of the other fish ate the missing neon, but most likely after it was already dead. What them all carefully for any signs of disease. As to whether or not you should add anymre fish to the tank, that depends on how big the tank is.

OK. here are your problems:
- your gourami is incompatible with all of your fish except the loaches.

- neons arent compatible with those fish

the gourami or the molly might have bitten off the neon's tail and the molly or the gourami might have killed the fourth fish

All you have to do is get another tank for your neons and they'll be OK. :-)

No the neons will not be ok in the tank you have set up now. Just for the fact you have semi aggressive fish and they do not go with community fish

Fish really get stressed out. go to your local pet store and you can find stress pills for fish. and probaly your male siamese fighter killed the neon whos tail fell off. Seperate your neons.

How big is your tank? If it's small it could be that one of the other fish got territorial and attacked or your fiish might have died and the other fish started poking at it after it died. But your other neon might be hiding but it's highly unlikeley if it's been missing for more than two days.

Your neons could of had that dread neon tetra disease. As for the fin damage it was likely done after death.

How big is your tank, if its small your Gourami or your betta could of attacked the lil neons.

you cant have neons with Siamese fighter------surprised he hasn't killed your gouramie yet either ------some of these fish are too delicate to be bullied-you might need another tank or two for all the fish you would like--some of these species you have don't make real good community fish-----thats ok though----my uncle used to have 12 tanks set up----i used to help him---it's how I learned about fish-----one can never have too many aquariums.
