You don't have to leave them in the bag for any amount of time but when you put them into their new tank, first put them into the water with the bag for twenty minutes so they will get used to the new water tempratures. Please email me if you need help because I had goldfish before and really like to help new owners!
Oh, and by the way if you need a checklist I would reccomend:
A large and roomy tank
A water Filter
Aquarium gravel
Fish food in the form of pellets or flakes
Live plants - can be bought at a pet store and filter the water too + adds very pretty decoration.

Actually that depends on your tank. Since goldfish tanks are not heated, it is best to float the fish for around 10 minutes. this will bring the water in the bag closer to the water in the tank. Add some of your tank water to the water in the bag and float another 5-10 minutes. Add a little more of your tank water to the bag and float another 5-10 minutes. Release your fish.
However, if your fish had traveled a long distance, add a little of your tank water right away.

If there is oxygen in it, you have 45 minutes until you might kill your fish. 15 minutes for the temperature in the water in the bag to get to the same temperature as the water in the tank.

I don't understand what youre saying but I'll try: you want to know how long to leave the fish while in the bag, dipped in the water you intend to put him in right? I would say-if that's what your're asking- for about 30 minutes or so because they make alot of waste and the ammonia could reach high levels in the bag, depending on the size of it.

Only for about 15 minutes of floating in the tank water of his new aquarium to acclimate to the temperature, then net it out into the tank. Hopefully at the very minimum it is a 10 gallon, with a hang on back filter, treated with water conditioner that removes chlorine, chloramine, heavy metals, and promotes natural slime coat.

you have to put them while still in their bag in the tank you plan to use. The tank should be almost full but make sure it doesn't overflow. This will regulate the water temperature and allow the fish to get used to it. Keep them like that for about 15min-half hour. Then untie the bag and let them swim in their new tank
