The key to analyzing the mucus is to recognize the different types. Before ovulation, cervical mucus is sticky and doesn't really stretch. It is usually opaque.

Then right before ovulation it turns runny or clear and at ovulation it is like very stretchy egg-white. In the days following ovulation it gradually goes back to the sticky stuff again and then usually disappears (although some women have a little mucus right before period starts).

There is something you can look for along with mucus to read your fertility patterns and that is temperature. The basal body temperature rises just after ovulation and sometimes dips just before.

I think if you have the egg white mucus and a lot of it, it means you are about to ovulate so you should have sex on that day or as soon as possible if you are TTC.

I believe that checking cm is not a really good idea, I have tried this method and nothing seems to be what it really is . hear a lot of people say that it is egg whites but everyone is different and I think that you should stock up on opk and test everyday until something happens best of luck to you..
