It depends on what "worth it" means to you. Well, really what "it" means. If your family does not have enough money to spend whatever it wants to on clothing, then spending extra at a store like abercrombie means you have to spend less somewhere else. And that can mean spending less on food, furniture, savings for school and retirement, car payment, house payment, all that stuff.
So is having abercrombie clothes worth not saving money for school and retirement? No. And it's really hard for you to know how much your family can really afford to spend on clothing.
I'm 24 now, and I don't care too much about wearing cool clothes because when you get beyond college it's just not the same. But when I was younger I definitely felt pressure to wear cool clothes.
When I was in elementary school and middle school, my family did not have much money at all, and I wore most clothes from second hand stores. And I didn't wear second hand clothes because of their cool, vintage fashion. I had to wear them because that was all my family could afford. As I got older, my family became better off, and we started being able to afford better clothes. Late in middle school, we could afford old navy. Then AE. Then by the end of high school, I could get lots of stuff at abercrombie.
Is there a difference between abercrombie and cheap clothes? Yes. The clothes cost more because they are made from better materials, and abercrombie has better designers working for them, and they have to pay them more too. And the clothes fit better (fit me better, at least), felt better, looked better, and lasted longer. Same thing for J Crew, and Banana Republic, and all kinds of other places. They cost more because the company spends more making them. You can have a successful clothing company that makes expensive or cheap clothes. If it was really all the same, and one company just charged more for the same stuff, then the company that charged more would wildly successful and the company that charged less would go out of business.
The issue is really about whether you should worry about wearing the coolest clothes all the time. I say you shouldn't go crazy about it, but it is a little bit important. It took me until I was about 22 become comfortable with my own sense of style and self. I don't have to buy the most expensive clothes or the clothes that everyone else is wearing. I know what I like, and what works for me. But it took a long time for me to grow in to that.
It'll probably take a long time for you to grow into it too. But it will happen. And then you'll think about the funny things you thought about clothes when you were younger.

r u serious. i feel the same way. i mean y would u wanna buy a plain tshirt with a logo on it for 20 bucks. u can definitely buy better and more stylish clothes elsewhere, and for cheaper price. if you still wanna wear those clothes buy a sweatshirt or something that you can wear often and get the value out of the money u r paying for those overpriced clothes. that way u can get the popular kid's clothes but still not go over your budget or waste your money.

For years I bought clothes at Target, Walmart and Old Navy. I always wondered why I didn't look as good as my friends. They bought Abercrombie and hollister clothes. So I think that these clothes tend to stay looking good for longer and they tend not to shrink or fade as much as the cheaper places. I like to by a mix of Hanes tagless Ts and some of the big names to I don't spend as much but still have clothes that last and look good. Also, Tommy Hilfiger clothes last forever, I would definetly pay more for that brand.

No, they are not really worth it. I bought a sweatshirt at Aero for 35 bucks and it ripped within a month. I shop at Savers and get better things for less than 3 bucks! I mean they may have some cool stuff but I mean it is not worth it!

Hollister & Abercrombie & constantly 21. Hollister & Abercrombie are a similar business enterprise and little bit pricy however the garments are stunning! constantly 21 is somewhat extra fee-effective & there outfits are stunning too!

Since I work at Hollister, I see first hand how overpriced they are, even with my discount. They're no better than aeropastale's stuff, but way more expensive. If you still want clothes from there (Hollister) check the clearance room.

uhh no. i used to cry to have abercrombie clothing. but now that i have a whole closet of it i think its ugly. everything in those stores pretty much looks the same. and you can get that clothing at like thrift shops or closets (those shops where theres used clothing but its still really nice) they have those kinds of brands and shirts for like 3 dollars that still look like new. they also have pants that cost like 50 dollars at the store for 10 :] just go to yellowpages and search for a consignment store.
