They have a chance at the 8th spot, but I don't think they'll make it. The teams that are in the chase for that last spot are really competitive, and I don't think the Leafs are up for the final push.
As far as Andrew Raycroft, he is a promising young goaltender. He's never really had a good supporting cast, but once he has that he could be great. But he needs that cast before we'll see the finished project.

I doubt it...they haven't scored enough goals to make up for all the ones they've allowed. I think they just might be edged out of the last playoff spot by the 'Canes or maybe finish in 10th, below the Rangers. I like the Leafs, but it just doesn't seem like this is their season.
Raycroft is still a developing young goalie who may have a lot of potential a few years down the road. I mean, Hasek took some time to develop early in his career, and became one of the greatest goalies of all time. But Raycroft may be a great goalie in a few years' time.

The Leafs are in the hunt and it will probably come down to the last week to see if they make it, because of how competitive the conference is.
I'm a Leafs fan too and I love Raycroft. He's a good, young, steady goalie. He's not the best in the NHL, but he's above average and he's been playing great lately. Leaf fans have been spoiled with great goalies in recent history (Grant Fuhr, Felix Potvin, Curtis Joseph, Ed Belfour and now the Razzor!).

I think the Leafs will make it to the playoffs! they have to play strong and hard too. Andrew Raycroft is a very good goalie. His stats are very good with a 2.96 goals against average. I just think they will play aggresive and make it to the playoffs. Go Leafs Go!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, no, I don't think they will make it.
I think Andrew Raycroft has what it takes to be a good goaltender if he can get it together.
He had a great rookie season in Boston then things went south from there.
When he first got to Toronto things weren't going well but he seems to have found his groove as of late.

Buffalo, Ottawa, Jersey, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Atlanta: all in
Philly, Washington, Florida: all out
Bruins don't have much of a shot. Right now the Leafs are in 8th spot if you look at win %. They are one of six teams fighting for 2 playoff spots.
Home schedule looks like this right now: NJ, Buf, Pit, Car, Phi, Mon. Those first three are going to be tough to get points off of. They should get an easy 2 off of Philly, and let's say they win 3 of the other 5. That would be tough but doable.
Road Schuedule: Mon, Buf, Atl, NRY, NYI.
Say they win 2 of those 5, and say one of their losses is in OT. That would put them right on the bubble with 90 points. None of their games are easy except maybe the Philly game. They have a lot of games against teams that are near them in the standings (NYI, NYR, Mon, Mon, Car), they have to win at least 3 or 4 of those I would think.
I think it's a 40% chance the Leafs get in.

I don't think the Leafs will have to worry about being leapfrogged by the Rangers or Montreal.
Prior to tonight, I would have given the edge to the Leafs over Carolina, but 5-1 against the Caps??? Where did that come from?
Did anyone see Crosby's goal tonight? WOW

They can't seem to win a game so I'm going to guess they'll be watching this post season.
Raycroft is a steady keeper, but an NHL starter? I suspect he's more Ty Conklin than Martin Brodeur, but the jury's still out on.

There is not a chance that they make it to the playoffs.
They are the only team pathetic enough to celebrate 40years without winning the cup.
And let me predict future for you, in 10years they will be celbrating 50years without winning the cup.
THEY ARE PATHETIC.
