i don't have any conscious memory of something remarkable happening on that date, but i keep dreaming about it. Do you have any idea why? Wild guess?

Dreams always have a reason for why they occur -- no dream comes out of nowhere because it's a mixture (often strange mixtures) of all your experiences, feelings, beliefs, and those are often deeply rooted, regardless of your awareness of it. Maybe something occurred on that day that you're supposed to remember and apply to your life? It could be something you thought was insignificant, but look at the deeper meaning -- there could be one if you look into it deeply. Good luck with it.
