So, say a white person enters a prominently black area....something happens, like a group of blacks men mugg the white person, and beat him (or her) up.

But say a black person enters a prominently white area, the white or black does......something, and the black person gets beaten up by the white person.

Why would the white beating the black person considered a hate crime, when a black beating the white person wouldn't be?

because some people feel they own the black people something because they were slaves in hands of the white people so if a white man beats up a black man its going back to slavery..... I'm sorry but all the black people out there get over it ..... Somewhere in africa your ancestors are sitting on their lazy butts fanning themselves with the money made by selling other tribes. So actually the Black people in Africa are the ones who you should be upset with. Sorry to break the news to you.

Sorry to say, but racial profiling is alive and well.
I am a white female and have been in a 5 year relationship with my boyfriend who happens to be black. We have always had to deal with peoples negative opinions and attitudes.

Example:::
Recently a car was stolen out of my complexes parking lot, and someone apparently saw the thief enter our building and at the same time a light in our apartment came on.

The police arrived at 2 am and questioned me, they were polite and courteous. Never treating me like I could be the person who stole the car.
After they were done questioning me, I informed then that my b/f was home and that I would get him for them.
As soon as my b/f walked out of our bedroom the cop placed his hand on his holster. He then started calling my b/f "son" and he used a condescending tone. He repeatedly asked the same questions over and over again to see if my b/f was lying (which he wasn't). He then ran his social and was on his way, keep in mind he never took my name or SSN.

All of this happened because of racial profiling and stereo types.

I firmly believe that it is easier to call a white person beating a black man a hate crime because of social conditioning.
We have been conditioned to believe that any ill feeling or action against blacks by whites is racist.
My b/f and I have had heated discussions over this in our relationship.

The reason why is that you would have to admit to beating a person because of the color of their skin. If a black person gets beat up and they tell the cops that while being beaten, he was called the n word, that's a hate crime. Or if he was previously threatened by his attackers before a beating and they let him he is not welcome wherever because of his race, that's a hate crime. If a black man did the same to a white man is would be a hate crime as well.
You just don't hear a lot about black people beating whites for being white because with the exception of the L.A. riots and a couple more riots from years ago, it really doesn't happen. I mean really, if there were so many blacks on whites hate crimes, you know the media COULDN'T WAIT to jump on it therefore, you would know about them and hear about them more.

There is absolutely no difference and the charges are the same.. It's the people that scream prejudice are the ones who bring this to light. To many people still are playing the victim and scream prejudice every time a white and a black are involved, where it's just two human beings having a disagreement. People simply need to calm down and stop playing the race card.. Whites and Blacks included!!!

Mac man.. it's questions like yours that keep this silly thing going.. neither white nor black can kill an innocent man.. Stop screaming race when what you may be referring to is simply someone got shot due to the activities they were involved in. That's the whole problem, someone gets killed and every looks to see what color they are and start screaming prejudice

Who told you that? A racially motivated beating is a hate crime no matter who is on the receiving end of it. Just ask the police.

Sounds like you have an acute case of generational guilt. A lot of whites are suffering from it these days and claiming reverse discrimination, which is an oxymoron.

Some Blacks do discriminate against whites and there is nothing reverse about it. Hate is hate. Some whites hate Blacks. What kind of person are you is what is important.

I treat people on a case by case basis. I treat them the way I want to be treated. White, Black or Purple with Blue spots. How about you?

The world is Fu*k up and the law does not help the honest man. If you want justice, you must buy it.

Anyways, not to be cruel or anything but whenever I see some black guy get beat up or something, I just change the channel and wonder why the station waste such good air time on such crap that nobody cares.

Do you care if a black man gets mug...? honestly. What about a white man...? Do you care...? The whole police station will be ON YOUR A$$ until they catch you.

Says who it would only be a hate crime if the white were beating the black? I think that is a racist thought, and I am white too, and think this has no sense to it.

That actually happened. 3 white women were beaten by like 19 black women I heard. The black women were charged with hate crime and sentenced to some time in jail, all expect one, some 12 year old who started sobbing uncontrollably after the verdict was read.

It is a well known card that is used to justify acts of crime or injustice regardless of motive.....the slavery card.

It is definitely a double standard that just makes the ones who do use it, bad.

My view is the ones who do use this as a way to justify their lack of better judgement, to get over it and grow up.

Then again, there are MANY people who are hard-working and are pretty stand up people. I guess it depends on who you run into.

If I cause some trouble, I take responsibility for my own actions....if someone does something stupid, let the police take care of it.....

Sometimes you just can't fix stupid.
