Certainly.
There is plenty to go around. World poverty is there because of uncaring selfishness. If we all decided we wanted to do our bit, there would no longer be any suffering because of poverty. (There would be suffering, but not because of poverty).
By the way, what is Red Nose Day?

Poverty is caused by greed, selfishness, civil war and general stupidity. I work in a food factory and some days what I throw away in an hour would feed me for a month. We have enough food on this earth to feed everyone, plenty!

In Africa there are countries with warring warlords who steal incoming aid.To get the food to the people who need it would take an invasion or a small army at least and huge distribution network. Then you would have to educate people in how to become self sufficient. We do have the wealth to finance this but not yet the political will.

Where there is a will, there is a way.

Going to the moon was impossible - but political will got us there.

I think a big problem is that some populations and cultures would have to move. People living in areas prone to drought would have to leave their lands and be resettled elsewhere. People living in small groups away from services like schools, jobs, hospitals, etc would have to move.

How is anyone going to get consensus for mass relocation of people? It sounds too much like ethnic cleansing.

yes, it's more than just throwing money at those countries, rather we could start by getting rid of the despotic regimes and its dictators such as mugabe, then work our way upwards from there on

The poor and the hungry will
be with you always. Even with
this truth it doesn't mean that
we can't at least try. :)

Yes-------------------all we would have to do is eradicate all the corrupt politicians, and world poverty would be history!
