Just watch the wonder, amazement and curiosity in your baby's eyes and see how much he will learn from you about the world. And then think about how much he will learn as he gets older and becomes a doctor or a lawyer or a builder or etc! So many wonders to see! So many things to do! 99% of this world, and the people in it (like you and me and my kids) are OK!
PS do not believe all the jesus stuff and other things. Let him see the world for himself.

Every time I turn on the T.V or read a newspaper, I feel like crap hearing all the negative things that go on in the world.
News hardly ever caters to good things that happen but they still do happen it's just that we rarely hear about them.
I cope with the depression of all the negative crap in this world by not watching the News or reading a Newspaper too often.

It's a pretty sad world you brought this little infant in to. It won't get any better, that is for sure. But congratulations to you anyhow.

I cope with this depressing world by spend a fair bit of time alone. I only associate with positive people and I meditate alot and do alot of spiritual things. Not religious, but spiritual. I don't read the papers, because it's all violence and sex that gets in the headlines. I don't want to know about it. I understand reality but I prefer to be calm in my home with my dogs and my calming music.

That's how I cope with it and for my age, I think I am doing pretty good. Good luck to you dear.

I often think, what kind of legacy am i leaving my grandchildren.I do understand your feelings. When we look at our new born so small and so vulnerable in this manic world,it is scary for parents, if we think too much about what if....
Over the years i have learnt to move with the times and do the best i can as a human being,as a mum,as a grand mother.
We all have our destiny! What will be will be.It isn't worth wondering too much.Just do the best you can for your son!

for the health of the child, try to keep him on good food so in case he finds food as a comfort, good food would be the first thing he'd go to so he'd stay healthy
same thing for exercise or all that good stuff
i personally, even though i'm 14, i do deal with the stress of coming from an almost painful family. I deal with it through daydreaming. I think that daydreaming isn't healthy because i'm being realistic and all that stuff. it's kinda wierd but yeah

Enjoy what you can while it lasts. Count your blessings. I would imagine a healthy baby can count for more than one. There are and can be worse days ahead in this world and hopefully some better ones eventually. Make the best of what you have right in front of you. I miss those days of rocking my kids to sleep.

Some maxims may help you here and your baby when older ......

(1) Life is hard. Accept it and the hardness dulls
(2) When you get down, for whatever reason, just grit your teeth and face the challenge . That determination will see you through anything.
(3) Happiness is fleeting ... when you spot it, revel in it, embrace it, remember it. Never strive for perpetual happiness, just mild contentment.
(4) Never, ever, let the bu**ers grind you down ....

There's always going to be some depression and angst and evil and all that, but also hope and happiness and success. Everything exists -- it all depends on what you decide to focus on. You have that decision, and no one else can make it for you. If there's something specific that's bugging you, then I would strongly suggest you apply a quote to it, that one of my best/favorite teachers of all-time told me:

"If you have a challenge, deal with it, learn from it, grow stronger for it, and move on..."

Jesus, He gives you the strength to carry any burden. Faith in Him will see you through. Joining a local Christian church was the best thing I ever did, try different one's till you feel at home. It's not only about Sunday's, it's about the rest of the week to, in fellowship with God's people, encouraging and supporting each other when times are hard, sharing and belonging, blessing and being blessed. Jesus is comming again to take His people home, that is His promise, our hope, and light at the end of the very dark tunnel of the world and the world's ways.....
Listen to your ' own ' heart!.....God bless.

You remind me of a question of mine "Name one thing life is worth living for". We all keep living, hoping, struggling, persisting, pursuing even reproducing so as to ensure life but for what? To grow up and begin to experience all these painful feelings that come with maturity and awareness of the cruelty of this world? Does the good stuff in life really compensate for all the bad moments that one could have in their life?
