There are many men and women who stay married for various reasons. It could be financial or physical security, love for kids, or even to keep their extended families happy.

Not me personally, but I've known many women who have done this, or at least stuck around until the kids where grown or until they found some other dude to shack up with. Not so much now or in very recent years, but in the 80's and 90's tons. Strange phenomenon to me, I never understood how
a woman could degrade herself like that BUT many
felt they were "just getting back at their husband, and well using them", or "he was so awful to me, I teacher him" kind of attitude, like "he'll pay for what he has done". It also could be just a good excuse to stay, and not take on the responsiblity of adulthood. To me it all just ends up in the same spot everyone full of anger and resentment. HHmmm interesting I have thought about that for a while now.

I think a lot of people, men and women stay married for financil reasons. Its not at all uncommon. The question is, how do you be true to yourself and find happiness under these circumstances? How do you stop yourself from becoming bitter, lonely, angry and pittiful? Maybe, a way out is to find yourself while you are still married, go to school, find a job and then end the marriage.
