So, are you asking for suggestions for the type or router to buy?

If you've had two routers die on you already, I'm thinking you have a grounding problem on the cable line coming into your house and your equipment is getting smoked by lightning strikes. Check to make sure that the connector in the box outside of your house/apartment is properly grounded (connector has a piece of wire connected to it with a screw and the other end of the wire is connected to a grounding rod or other good source of grounding).

Anyway, I despise Linksys. Try your luck with Netgear or if you don't mind ugly user interfaces maybe a dlink. I've never used Belkins, but they seem to be the ones that are most likely not protect with WEP or WPA by their owners, so I'm thinking that they're a little more difficult to set-up than some of the other manufacturers equipment.

Any will work with your 8000/768 connection speed, since the speed of the ethernet connection coming out of the drop side of that modem and into your router is probably 10000/10000.

Good Luck,

I have never had a problem with a linksys router but I now use a microsoft wireless router and it works great! Usually it is your isp rather than your equipment! Try microsoft i works great!

D-Link, Netgear, Belkin - They're all very good alternatives to Linksys.
