My first computer was an Apple and then they went berzerko and had to take their own path when everyone else decided to go with processors that were compatible! Apple was the only mfg that didnt! It use to be that even PCs werent compatible with half a dozen different processors. Everyone but Apple got wise! This is their sole reason for their market failure! Like I said, why would I want an intel based Mac if I wanted to run Windows? It would cost a small fortune for the software on an already overpriced computer! If you want to upgrade your Mac, you gotta buy parts from Apple! I choose the freedom to buy from any other PC hardware mfg and being there are so many of them, the prices are cheap because of competition!
GEE! RWPETE can buy a hard drive and a memory stick! I'm impressed! According to his statement, he doesnt need much software because he doesnt run much software! CMON PETE! Be honest! How many times have you wished your Mac would run that application but it wont run on a Mac? The computer buyer market tells the story! It doesnt take a brain to figure that out!

I work for a major PC company and use both a macintosh and a PC. I prefer my Macintosh most of the time.

People think Mac's stink without trying for a few reason.
There not using it, how can I or my business be wrong ?
Some Macintosh people act almost cult like in their love of their computer. Some feel owning a Macintosh is like being part of an elite club. Macintosh user attitudes prejudices many PC users from trying a Macintosh.
Also Apple no longer makes a computer for everyone, right now if you want a desktop, you have a choice of 3 hardware configurations. The Mac-mini, which uses a laptop hard drive and Intel graphics. Then there is the all in one iMac. And if you need to expand you have Mac Pro, a Xeon tower which is pricey. Apple has a small share of the market, and lacks the number of options that you get from the big PC manufacturers.

It doesn't matter what computer you use as long as you can accomplish your tasks at hand.
While I enjoy using my Mac, at times I am better off using my PC.

People claim that Macs suck for two primary reasons.

1) They have never used one, but its the cool thing to say.
2) They have used PC's, and have tried using a Mac, but the differences were too annoying for them to keep relearning a system.

The systems are great for what they are made for. Each has its benefits. I personally use a PC, because thats what we use at work, and I game at home. I have no need for a Mac.

I find a lot of people that hate Macs have not used the current line up and are just unaware of what they can do. Also tech savvy people like to be able to build and upgrade their current PC's without having to buy a new computer and yes Mac's are limited to upgrades.

As far as having to buy all components from Apple, not true my new 160 GB hard drive is a seagate, my external is a seagate, the ram I installed is from crucial.

Then there's the software argument. Again how many titles do you need to be productive and do the things you need. My top ten used programs are Logic, Photoshop, Office, Itunes, iPhoto, Mail, Garageband, iCal, limewire and iWorks.

iLife comes pre-installed on all new Macs and if you had to buy it is $79.00. Show me any PC software suite that does what iLife does for $79.00. iWorks again $79.00 is a creative suite that surpasses Office and you can share any Doc, Presentation with Any PC that has word, excel or power point. Then there is iWeb, Macs free pre-installed website builder. Show me any Free PC program that can do what iWeb does.

OS, how come we can buy Mac OS X for $129.00 and Vista is in the $200 to $500 range with so many users, Who's getting bent there?

I've used both platforms for over 25 years and I've built several PC's, a 25 workstation network at my Job and routinely help my PC owning friends tune-up and fix their broken or slow PC's.

For what I do my Mac just fit's the bill, I compose my own music all on one little computer and use it as a sequencer during live performances. And never once has it crashed or let me down. Can't say the same for my Win XP machine.

So if Mac haters want to call us Volvo Drivers or Idiots cause we choose to use Mac,s go right ahead, don't bother me.

I'm educated enough to research things before I throw out some lame opinion and a lot of opinions about Macs are from people that have an old formed distaste for the platform.

A simple indication of where Mac's and PC's stand in the world is not Market Share, but what some of the greatest minds in the World choose to use. There the Mac wins.

Because they are ignorant and think windows is the best and mac suck. They are stupid and never want to try new things. Some even think Dell is the best and others even think that it has its own os. People are just afraid of the power of Macs.
