That's a question for your doctor. If you don't have a high-risk pregnancy for any reason, it may be okay, but if your doctor is the better-safe-than-sorry type, he or she may tell you not to fly. Do whatever the doctor says.

I've heard that the second trimester is the time that it's okay to fly.

yes, it is. They usually don't want you flying in the later part of your pregnancy incase you go into labor. But it is perfectly safe to fly.
