India has a couple of time zones so they're either 5 or 6 hours east of GMT. And the US of A has 4 time xones which are from 5 to 8 hours west of GMT.
It kinda depends on exactly where you live and where your friend lives.

There are four time zones in the United States of America; you'll want to specify which one. If you know what time it is "here" in UTC (Universal Coordinated Time) or GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) --- they're the same thing --- then India is UTC +05 hours 30 minutes.
