I'm not for certain, but it sounds like you're running Windows Vista. Vista has had compatibility issues (actually, it's more Apple's fault) with iTunes. When Vista was officially released Jan 30th, Apple promised a Vista update within a few weeks. We're still waiting, but oddly enough, the other day, mine decided to start working.

The only thing I can really tell you, if Vista is your problem, is to wait on an update from Apple, unfortunately.

For a utility answer, you ought to attempt reinstalling your working device, be that Window, OS X or Linux. additionally you are able to open up your job supervisor (ctrl+alt+del or precise click on your initiate bar and decide "job supervisor"), and notice if there are any strategies that are taking over countless reminiscence or processing means. If none of those fixes it, it ought to the two be a hardware subject or a cooling subject. in the journey that your laptop is in a limited area and does not have plenty room to respire, I propose moving it to a extra open region to attempt and help ventilate it extra. each and every so often, if a working laptop or laptop overheats, it is going to shutdown directly to keep away from any actual harm to the device. Your laptop won't have adequate means to run each and every thing in the device, and so it is going to shutoff because of the shortcoming of means (sort of like a rolling blackout in a means grid). If it is none of those, then i might deliver it in to a provider place to have it appeared at.
