If you go by the number of World Series they won, yes, the Yankees have won more WS than any other team in the history of baseball.

Even though the Yankees have won the most World Series does not mean they are the best.The last time they won a WS was sometime in 2000, 2001, 2002, or 2003.That is a very argumentative question.

Yes it is not the current team but the team as a whole. 26 world championships and 41 world series appearances.

They are still good, but not like they were in the days of old, when they hardly lost a world series. Nowadays, if the are they are the Amer. League champs, they lose more series than they win.
