I'm not real big on letting other people work on my trucks

E-mail me for the pictures, if you wish, since I was unable to copy and paste the link. This is assuming you have a 5.4L V8. Bear in mind, there could be numerous other causes of the misfire, regarding the posting of your other question. Also bear in mind, these trucks are not very friendly to work on, for a professional mechanic, let alone a DIYER. For any work involving cylinder head or engine removal, requires removing the body off the frame. Have a look here, to see what I'm talking about:

You mean compression check? See if you can adapt a method of using a leak down pressure tester. They're cool; you feed pressure into the cylinder and read the difference across two gauges to determin the condition of the cylinder. You can buy them here and there, theyre used to check airplane engine compression. Problem is the piston needs to be at TDC on the power stroke. Listening for the air leaking out determins where the compression loss is from. Hissing from exhaust: exhaust valve. Hissing from intake: intake valve. Hissing from oil fill: bad rings.

Take the truck to autozone and have them run the codes and see what the error actually is first. I know Rakel gave you that answer but that is just one of many possible problems, find the codes first. Autozone will do it for free. If you don't want that then go inside the store and buy an OBD2 reader. If you want to work on your truck, it will come in handy. Good luck

You mean its missing?... sounds like a spark plug not firing or is grounded, injector not working or somethings out of timing... take a screwdriver and put it to the injector and put your ear to the handle and lisen for a clicking sound, if its not, than its not working right, you can unplug the spark plug wire and put a tester on the end to see if its firing and use a timing light to see if its out of time...
