To find which pair of numbers or fractions are proportional, you have just to cross-multiply that is to multiply the numerator of one frction by the denominator of tthe other fraction. If the two products are equal, then the numbers ,or for that matter, the fractions are proportional
in A0.4*1.5=0.6,whereas 0.1*6=0.6.The products are same.Hence they are in proportion
In B 0.4*1.6 is not equal to 0.1*6.So they are not proportional
In C 0.4*1.5 is not equal to 0.1*5.6.They are not proportional
In d 0.4*1.6 is not equal to 0.1*5.6.they are not proportional
Hence A is correct
(As in the first try only we could see that A is proportional,we required not to do any more calculations .But we did it just to practise.)

There are several ways to solve this problem; one way is to simply do the divisions. All of the LHSs (left hand sides) are 0.4/0.1 = 4, so we just look for a RHS (right hand side) that evaluates to 4. The first one, A, is 6/1.5=4.
