Run out there and open the garage door. Then shut off the car. Close the door between the house and the garage, and open your windows for a while.
Then send your husband out to buy a carbon monoxide detector and some batteries for it. While he's out, watch the kids for signs of CO poisoning, such as headache or drowsiness. Set up the CO dectector when your husband gets home. If it indicates that CO levels are safe, you can put the kids to bed. If not, get a hotel and let the house air out overnight.

Get everybody outside and then open the garage door and let it air out for a few minutes. Then go inside the garage and turn the motor off. If you have some portable fans you might try either blowing the fresh air the garage or the CO out. If there is a window in the garage open it.
I'm sure some CO got inside the house, but I doubt if it will be a big deal, it will air itself out. If you feel uncomfortable with it, then open a few windows and turn on the furnace fan to circulate the air.

There is something up with this picture I think it would be in your best interest to get up and turn off the car and air out the house .I herd that same story about the family that got killed by there husband being careless and leaving a car on closed up in a garage. Get help to your house NOW and have a talk with your husband about the danger he put you and your children in.
P.S:
I hope its not a SUV are foreign car.

Of course SOME fumes got in the house. Probably not enough to damage your health. Open the garage door and leave it open for a couple of hours. You will probably be affected adversely before the children are. If you're not groggy, not much damage was done.

I would get in garage if possible and shut off car, if you can open a window a bit to get rid of fumes.I would call a friend to get kids
and you out of house for awhile if you suspect there is a chance of
carbon monoxide in the house. If your garage is attached and
is below a bedroom there is a good chance that there is fumes.

Other than that I once did a paper on catalytic converters and found out an interesting fact. most people that try asfixiation by cars don't go through with it. apparently the four cylinders burn less and more efficiently and with a good working catalytic converter, most of the noxious gases get turned into water vapor by the catalytic converter. The person either gets bored waiting or talks themselves out of it.

If you don't have a carbon monoxide detector...which you should, call the fire department. They can check for CO levels. Don't open the windows, just leave the house. If you were exposed to CO and it dissipates out the window there is no way to know. You may need medical treatment, especially if you are pregnant. Was your husband trying to hurt himself, or is he just a moron?
