I have a dog and a bird. If your home a lot and have a great deal of time to spend w/a dog that is great, if not don't get one, they need a great deal of attention. A bird is okay with time alone just not all the time. If you get two birds of the same kind they won't care if your ever home. lol. Think about it a lot before you decide. cheers good luck.

I have 3 dogs and yes, it's a lot to manage when I work full time. But my family helps me out a lot with them. I wouldn't be without my dogs for anything in the world.

We have a wonderful Sheltie named Bud. He needs to be brushed daily and exercised a lot but my husband is retired. He is a great companion, smart and excellent with the three granddaughters.
