call me a "fanboy" all you want I dont care :) to me LINK is the bigger and Image then mario ever was, NOT saying Mario isnt good but you gotta say...compare to mario..LINK can beat his red mustash @*** anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
all these systems PS,Xbox they can't Touch nintendo, all you nintendo haters dont know what gaming and having "fun" FUN is the key word here..sure...keep your halo's, grand theft auto's and Final Fantasys Nintendo can counter that in a heartbeat.

Well, Mario Did just start off as an advertiser for the Nintento for many years now as a Plumber, I mean Zelda was a Character of Nintendo, And my friend has a Zelda game where he's a dot holding a stick (Sword), I guess im trying to say they all did their share, I really can't choose bettween them.
(This proves that even the littlest things can grow to be the biggest hit, such as Zelda being a dot, now being 3-D and a big hit.)

I'm definately more a fan of zelda than of super mario. However I think Mario is more of an icon for Nintendo.

I hear u fanboy, but I think Mario is better. Everyone knows Mario from little kids to those past retirement. I believe Mario paved the way for a lot of games. I have nothing against Link, but I have to stick with the plumber :-) Good Luck!!

I would have to go with the original, Mario. Although, Zelda has boosted popularity since Twilight Princess, he is VERY close, but Mario has been with us for almost 22 years now. And I ain't givin' up on him.
But anyways, Nintendo wouldn't have ANYTHING without either of them, so both of them could qualify as the biggest icon.

Mario is the bigger icon for Nintendo... I mean, just look at the homepage of Yahoo Answers today, for example.
I love Nintendo... have ever since I was a kid... but when you want a more mature gaming experience, want amazing graphics... Nintendo just doesn't make the cut in my opinion. I'd rather play my 360.

MARIO!!!! HE'S THE MAIN MASCOT OF NINTENDO AND HAS LOADS OF GAMES WITH HIM IN IT. HE ALSO IS IN HIS OWN TV SHOW.
