I just had a ultra sound today i am 8 weeks preg. and set up a doctors appt. because of spotting around three times a week once a day, the doctor informed me that the baby is fine, and i got to hear the heartbeat which was good and strong. But there is a possibilty i might miscarrige because i am bleeding under the placenta, and if it bleeds enough it may push the plalcenta away form the wall and i might miscarrige.....I was wondering if anyone had any information on this,. or have ever heard of it before?

I had that too! at exactly the same time (8 weeks). My bleeding was very heavy and lasted about a week, they told me it was a 50/50 the baby would miscarry. But I was put on a very strict bedrest, for two weeks. Then I was put on a "take it easy, no walking or standing for more then 15 minutes at a time, no sex, no nothing..." for another week, until they felt safe the baby had reattached. My baby and I are now 16weeks into the thick of things, and doing great. And, although it's very scary, the good things in it were that this was the time my morning sickness was at it's worst, so all the laying really made me feel better. Plus I got to get an early ultrasound (like you), and I consider myself VERY lucky to see my baby so early. Was yours moving? My favorite part was watching my baby roll over and tug on the umbilical cord. :) I'm sure everything will work out and be just fine, just listen to your doctor and take it easy.

I had a small bleed behind my placenta at 13 weeks with my son....I was put on strict bed rest for two weeks, went back to the doctor and found it had gotten slightly bigger..So I was on bed rest for the next two months!! Only allowed to get up to go to the bathroom and get something quick to eat (if I was home alone). After the two months I had another ultrasound and it had resolved it`s self and everything was fine..My son was born a healthy 8 pds. 3oz.!! Oh, it`s called a Sub-Chronic Bleed...Listen to your doctor and rest!! Stay off your feet as much as possible! Good Luck to you!!!

It's called placenta previa. While I have never heard of it this early in pregnancy...Go to WEBMD to research. While I feel awful for you in this horrible time, remember you haven't lost the baby yet and stress could make it worse. Good luck!!
