What do you think of todays popular artist and they're music? Has music experienced a dramatic dropoff in terms of quality?

Its clear that alot of people are tired of the recycled garbage that is being released as music. It will be hard to pick a best answer.

There are practically no groups with any staying power anymore. Probably it is because they are musical lightweights, without much of anything relevant to say.

I like listening to Paolo Nutini, and Blue October, but I wonder where they will be 5 years from now.

A lot of today's "music" isn't even new. All these rap groups just "sample" great old music because the rappers don't have enough musical education to write lyrics and melodies. Who can compare to groups like Rush, Styx, Jefferson Starship, Ultravox, Blondie, the Patti Smith Group, The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Blue Oyster Cult, and Yes.

Yes, all this Beyonce and Justin Timberlake crap gives me a headache...I miss Queen!

Today's muzac is pitifully. All a bunch of repetitious noise with no meaning.

i think it varies widely. some rock is not bad, although kinda poppy. but a lot of the young girl singers are so pop it hurts.
