I am a registered democrat and like most of the other democrats I know, I like.. no.. I love just about everything about America. I even like some republicans.

That doesn't mean that I don't see some things that are wrong with our country, and I hope I don't sound like too much of a flag waver if I say I love America enough to want to fix some things about this country that don't work as well as any of us would like.

Both democrats and republicans, I hope and believe, have the best interests of this country at heart.

But, like most democrats, from what Ive seen and experienced the left has a much clearer view of the problems and much more coherent remedies.

Moreover, the left has a tradition of sticking up for law and order no matter whose toes get stepped on. Remember Harry Truman getting huge support from labor unions and then siding with management in a very significant steel worker strike. He was acting out of principal and that's admirable in anyone.

But the right is valuable too. They keep the equation balanced, and I believe there are men in congress on the right side of the aisle who are as honorable as the come.

McCain and Hatch come immediately to mind.

About the same things Republicans actually like about America.

By the way Democrats is a proper noun and needs to be capitalized. So is America.

They like dragging america through the mud and blaming the USA for everyhing, while not giving the USA credit for anything, just watch the news. I have 12 relatives, uncles, nieces and nephews etc. (4 in Iraq 2 in Afgan and 7 back in USA) and all have great things to say about what is going on and the progress made there, and they are all upset about the media's protrayal of what is going on. If the libs what to stop the war they have the power to defund it, why dont they?

Its the land of liberty, we do not live in a country that is a totalitarian government....that's called a two or multi party system. We love out country just as much as Republicans do. If you want governments to be efficient, then I suggest you look at Nazi Germany

The idea of DEMOCRACY and all that it promises and the ability to critize our government when it falls short of what was promised (and I am not a Democrat I am a Progressive that picks Democrats over Republicans).

Democrats like America because they can be gays, abortionists and be liberal in this country unlike in Islamic and conservative countries when these are not tolerated but meted with harsh penalties.
