Rarely. There are times it makes for a more interesting comment to drop a letter or two. If overdone it can quickly become boring and give the look of being undereducated. "Street gang" language is a bit hard to stomach.

Only occasionally, for flavor or to 'speak' in a particular vernacular. Or if they just get really, really heavy.
