has anyone heard of getting on all fours and scrubbing or pretending to scrub the floor to induce labor ? if so, and you did it, did it work ? how did you do it ?

Hey there aint nothing wrong with it. Being pregnant doesn't mean you can be lazy. You Are Having A Girl! How amazing!

Wow some people dont care how rude they are if they can earn more points hey? I think you mean the motion of being in all fours, will it start your labour. Its a "natural" birthing position so its probably a good start. I laboured in that possie for a while, but my labour had already started. The "nesting" is true, but maybe the act of all the work helps start the labour, not the imminent labour that starts the work! Everybody starts differently, and having sex can sometimes help because semen contains prostaglandins and this can soften your cervix(they use prostaglandin gel in inductions of labour in the hospital) You can certainly enjoy trying (if you dont feel too big by this stage)
Just dont try too hard (with the scrubbing) in case you pull a muscle or something. Balancing on a fitnessball is good for "opening up"too. Good luck!

I have never heard of the pretending. I have heard of nesting. Where a pregnant mother suddenly gets a burst of energy in the last stages and begins to clean everything in sight. Usually this is a sign of labor coming on, and mothers instinctive ways of preparing for her childs arrival. I don't know if faking it does the trick though. That would be equivelant to faking pain just to go into labor. Our babies will come when they are ready!

It may work but could also put a lot of strain on your abdomen. Maybe that's what actually induces you. You would need to be so careful though. If you intend natural childbirth the absolute last thing you would want are strained pelvic muscles. You're going to need every one of those in top working order when the time comes.
Regardless of anything else, good luck........

Doctor's have no idea what induces labor, but I'm sure scrubbing the floors has to be the one thing they missed. Imagine all the science behind such a discovery. In fact, I think using soap on a tile floor, or wood cleaner on a wood floor, will enhance and even be the proximate cause of...................................................................................................................... CLEAN FLOORS
