Is there a difference between a record playerand a turntable? I have a record player and it plays records. I just got this Gemini XL-200 turntable and it has a plug to plug into wall and another with a red plug, white plug, and a metal plug or something. Anyway can't seem to get sound out of it and don't know what to plug the red and white plugto and the metal bent funny thing. Please help and be nice, I don't know what I am doing!

Yes sir the difference between a record player and a turntable is that the record player has a receiver and the turntable doesn't and that's why you can't get sound. You need to come out of the receiver and that's where your speakers are hooked up to. The red ,white and other plug will go into your receiver when you get it. SOO i was nice and will you be nce and give me them 10 points thank you.
