I was just wondering if anyone knows whether if inside the box the following 'Genuine Blue Topaz' what does that mean in Jewellery terms. Does it mean they are real diamonds that every girl dreems of having? sorry if i sound shallow but im just curious.

Genuine Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December. There are several shades of Blue Topaz.( Swiss, London, Electric, Neptune & more). On the mohs scale that measures the hardness of Gem Stones a Diamond is a 10, and Topaz is around 7.5.
I must point out that there are White Topaz Stones, and can have the color, or fire of a diamond, but this is only because of the way it is cut. They are substituted for real diamonds in 14kt. gold rings, for the sparkle they have.

Your ring is Blue Topaz. The Blues in the Topaz are the most popular. This gemstone comes in many different colours. Sky Blue Topaz, Swiss Blue Topaz and London Blue Topaz.
It is not a diamond.
Had it been a clear Topaz which is also available, it would be mistaken for diamond as it has a unique crystal structure that makes it dense.

Blue Topaz is just that Topaz. It is a stone within it's own. The color is just blue opposed to lets say yellow. A Topaz stone is not a Diamond. Although, I'm sure your girl will love to have something from you. We like more than diamonds you know.

No, blue topaz is topaz, which is a different stone entirely from diamonds... It is very pretty though and not as expensive as diamonds. The diamond I bought for my fiancee is like half the size of a pea and cost $6,000 so diamonds are out of the question in most cases.

It sounds like a beautiful piece of jewelery though. Most women love blue topaz.

Blue topaz is a semi-precious stone, not diamond. It's the birthstone for Sagittarius, and very pretty.

If you're disappointed it's not a diamond, don't show it. If it's beautiful enough for you to think it was a precious stone, enjoy it's beauty, not the price tag. Besides, diamonds are a scam. The only reason they cost what they do is because only limited numbers of them are released for retail, so the price is artificially inflated. Many other "semi-precious stones" are actually rarer than diamond.

Also, you're not likely to get much new jewelry if you turn your nose up at heart felt offerings.

topaz is a semi precious gem, it would appear while it is a gem it isn't a Diamond you can go to a manufacturing jeweler and discuss getting it reset and ask if he can tell with a light meter if it is a topaz or a Diamond

Blue topaz is a very pretty stone, but it is not a diamond. I have several as they are not terribly expensive but they are quite lovely and can certainly be appreciated for the lovely gift they are.
