You'll probably need an interpreter...but after you find that need (try petco) all you really have to do is take the gerbil somewhere romantic, buy some REALLY tiny flowers and a REALLY tiny ring, get down on one knee (being careful, of course, not to crush the life out of your intended in doing so) and tenderly brush back his/her (does anyone really KNOW with gerbils?) hair, and look deeply into his/her eyes and sincerely state your interest.
A word of advice...stay away from the cardboard tubes and bendovers on the honeymoon. *cringe*

I have never seen so many or such pleasant spirited trolls on the pet section before. And I have never answered them either.
I know you don't want to hear this, but it is best to marry a member of your own species. Very few gerbils are able to reproduce with humans, if that is what you are.
However, you can always be friends.
