I know there's a small time difference but I don't think that accounts for the vast gap.

First off, there is 8 additional minutes during an NBA game. Also, the shot clock is 24 secs vs 35 secs in college. Third reason; skill level of offensive players are dominate. Last reason; $

The eight minute difference is actually like 1/5 of a college game.

Plus the shot clock is 11 seconds shorter in the NBA than in the college, which causes teams to shoot faster.

NBA has more quick shooting one-on-one play than the NCAA, which is more team oriented. More passing the ball around in NCAA, which takes up time.

Until recently zones weren't in the NBA, which most teams still don't play a lot. Getting past zones to find a good open shot takes up a lot time.

Talent would be the final thing. Experienced pro men who know how to score..vs young college teenages and men in early twenties who are still learning how to play basketball in college.

Oh one more thing....along with the zone...college players probably work harder on defense than the pro's do, which makes it harder to get off good shots.

Not always, Tenn. put up 114 today. The biggest reason is because of talent. In NCAA basketball, yes you have team like Ohio State and UNC ect but for the most part you haved teams with maybe one or two good players. In the NBA you have teams like Denver were you have Iverson and Anthony but everone is scoring at least 5pts because of their exp. If their not they are sittin! Period!

8 minutes is a significant difference.

College players play harder (including on defense)

The NBA players are more talented (often better shooting percentages)

Different shot clock.
