(First, I'm assuming you already have a work visa / permesso di soggiorno. As shop workers are not skilled laborers you would need to have an EU passport to work in Italy. I'm also assuming you speak fluent Italian- otherwise you stand almost no chance of getting shop work.)

I know that in Torino a full-time shop assistant makes about EUR 750 per month. So you'd probably make a bit more than that in Milan- say, EUR 850. Cut that in half for a part-time job and you're looking at about EUR 100 per week for twenty hours of work, or five euros per hour. If you're really well-groomed and well-spoken you could probably get a job in a high end boutique where you could also earn a commission.

part-time job will give you about 500 euros a month, which is not too bad if you have acocmodotation, but if u have to pay rent as well, it might get a bit difficult.
I't not easy to find a job, the best thing to do is going to job agency (like manpower/Obiettivo lavoro/Adecco), they might find something for you (it's a free service)

Good level of italian is required, but, being in Milan, you might get lucky and find a job in a turistic area, where speaking english is as important as knowing italian.
Good luck!
