What would you do to a friend's betrayal?

What would you do if your very good buddy betrays you for US$3,500? He made you a scapegoat to take full responsibility of something, so you need to pay $3,500 for him.

Will you still take this person as a plain friend?

Will you fight for the money? and how?

p.s. you are a 25 years old female undergrad student;
your so-called friend is a 22 years old male graduate (currently unemployed)

A friend wouldn't do that to you. I'd take him to court.
